ThepolicecomeforGhodratafterhispicturehadappearedinlocalnewspapersasa"wantedanddangerousman";presumably,oneofthelocalpeoplehadinformedthepoliceofhiswhereabouts.Thepolicebesiegethehouseforseveralhours,butGhodratdoesnotsurrender.Seyedarriveshometodiscovertheescalatingsituation,fearingGhodrat'sdeathatthehandsofthelargepoliceforce.HeimploresthepolicechieftoallowhimtoenterthehouseinordertopersuadeGhodrattosurrender.Feelingresponsibleforthedangerinwhichhisfriendisnowinvolved,GhodratbeseechesSeyednottointerveneandtogoawaybeforeheishurt.However,SeyedchoosestoremainwithGhodrat.HerunsawayfromthepoliceandisshotintheshoulderbuteventuallymanagestogetintotheroomwithGhodrat.
